How do I make thumbnails work?

Is this a thing? Can I make it so a picture doesn't show in full for the thumbnail, but is a full picture when you click it?

I want to buy a silver back gorilla and teach it how to workout so I can see it at peak strength.
Also to have it do cardio so it will be faster then people and have it get some boxing lessons so it will be well rounded
