What irks me is anyone using furry art sites to blast political screeds. There are a handful of users I'm specifically looking at who soapbox for the purposes of getting people to comment so they can eviscerate them and feel superior.

I agree that there should be spaces where one can disengage with politics. When antiprogressives try to push their bigoted views through the use of dogwhistles, regressive rhetoric, or outright hate speech and harrassment, it's something that needs to be pushed back against. ESPECIALLY when they try and hide behind a facade of civility and politeness. It's not nice, it ruins the experience for everybody, but without mods doing anything then it's up to the users to curate their own culture.

The ones I'm thinking of on IB, who are aptly described by "antiprogressive," are polite only inasmuch as it helps with trolling. They're of the "it's adorbs how triggered I made you" variety, and one of them used to (until staff told him to cut it out) post trolling images designed to draw responses they could then blast.
